WWE Smackdown!
July 20
1. Teddy Long announces that Edge has to relinquish the World Heavyweight title. Edge then comes out and talks about his past injuries and coming back from them. Edge then says he was innocently attacked by Kane who wanted an advantage at the Great American Bash. Edge goes on to say he had his left pectoral muscle was torn all the way to the bone and will be out for four months. He then shows a cheesy tribute video for himself. Teddy Long says theirs a bright side. When Edge comes back he will be in line for another world title opportunity and then announces a 20-man over-the-top-rope battle royal to decide the new champion. Edge says he doesn't understand why everyone can be moving on so quickly. Long explains that the right thing to do is to give the title up. Edge goes over his accomplishments and says when he comes back he'll be World Champion for a fourth time.
2. Match- Victoria def. Torrie Wilson with a Widow's Peak 2/10
Standard Divas match that went a little too long.
3. Rey Mysterio vignette
4. Battle Royal Match- The Great Khali def. 19 others to become the new World Heavyweight Champion!!! 4/10
This has to be one of the worst moves ever for the WWE. Whatever the match is going to be at the Bash you now know that it will most likely be a stinker. Hopefully this won't be for long.
5. Khali interview. Translator says Khali's reign as champion will be a reign of terror. Khali shouts something.
6. Teddy Long and Vickie Guerrero are talking backstage and Vickie brings up the fact that Batista is already supposed to face Khali and that Kane is the number one contender. Teddy says that Batista and Kane will face each other to see who will face Khali at the Great American Bash.
7. Match- Matt Hardy def. Kenny Dykstra with a Twist of Fate from the top rope 6/10
Good match with these two. Fans are really behind Hardy going into the Bash.
8. Chuckk Palumbo vignette
9. Jesse and Festus promo
10. Great American Bash rundown
11. #1 Contender's Match- Kane vs. Batista ended in a no contest after Khali interferred 7/10
Great match between these two. Both men actually did some good wrestling. Teddy Long came out after the match and said that Khali would face both Kane and Batista.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK show going into the Great American Bash. I don't like the fact that Khali is the new champ but I'm sure it won't be for too long. The card is this:
John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley- WWE Title
The Great Khali vs. Batista vs. Kane- World Title
John Morrison vs. CM Punk- ECW Title
Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy- IC Title
Matt Hardy vs. MVP- US Title
The Sandman vs. Carlito- Singapore Cane on a Pole Match
Dusty Rhodes vs. Randy Orton- Bullrope Match
Candice Michelle vs. Melina- Women's Title
Show Rating- 5/10

Remembering Kronus
As many of you may or may not know former ECW tag-team champion John Kronus was found dead. As of yet no details have been released but nothing suspicious has been found. I would like to take a look back at his career.
John Kronus was most famous for being one half of arguably the most popular tag-team in ECW's history, the Eliminators along with Perry Saturn. Kronus held numerous tag-team championships in ECW and the USWA with Saturn and New Jack. The team was famous for their finishing move the Total Elimination where Kronus would hit a spin kick on their opponent high while Saturn hit a spin kick low. The Eliminators had amazing fueds with the likes of the Gangstas, the Pitbulls, the Dudleys, and the team of Rob Van Dam and Sabu. Kronus (real name George Caiazo) first appeared in wrestling after Perry Saturn (real name Perry Satullo) met him in a club while Kronus was working as bouncer. Saturn sent Kronus to Killer Kowalski for training and then formed a tag-team known as the Eliminators. Saturn and Kronus first garnered fame working for the United States Wrestling Association (USWA) winning the tag-team titles once defeating Eddie Gilbert and Brian Christopher. The Eliminators first debuted in ECW at "Gangstas Paradise" teaming with Jason to defeat Taz and the Steiner Brothers. The Eliminators would win their first ECW tag-team titles defeating Cactus Jack and Mikey Wripwreck. The Eliminators then engaged in a bloody feud with the Gangstas which saw the Gangstas dethrone the Eliminators as tag-team champions. After the Eliminators regained the tag titles they saw new competition in the team of Rob Van Dam and Sabu which produced many amazing matches. The Eliminators then went on to feud with the Dudleys for a short time before Saturn tore some ligaments in his knee and the team was forced to disband.
After the Eliminators, Kronus went on to have semi-fame teaming with New Jack collectively known as the Gangstinators. The team would win the tag-team titles at the "As Good As it Gets" defeating the Dudleys in a match that saw New Jack's first ever balcony dive. Kronus left ECW in 1999 and joined the California based hardcore promotion XPW. He stayed with XPW until 2001. Kronus retired in 2002. Kronus then reappeared briefly competing in the Hardcore Homecoming reunion tour.
The Eliminators were one of the most beloved teams in wrestling history. Kronus will be remembered for his amazing athletic ability and brawling skills. Wrestling has lost one half of one of the greatest tag-teams ever. He will be missed.

TNA Impact
July 19
1. Show opens with JB telling Kurt Angle (in a tanning bed wearing a speedo...) that Jim Cornette was looking for him.
2. Match- Triple X (Senshi,Christopher Daniels, and Elix Skipper) def. Martyr, Havoc, and Raven after a leg drop (Skipper), BME (Daniels) and a Warrior's Way (Senshi)
Awesome to see Triple X back together! They looked just as awesome now as they did 4 years ago. A great opener. 7/10
3. Kazarian came out and attacked Raven.
4. JB tries to get Angle (still in a tanning bed) to see Cornette again. Kurt finds that someone stole Kurt's title belts and clothes...
5. Backstage interview with Christian. He talks about the revenge match with Chris Harris and Rhino later.
6. Team 3-D come out and cut a promo on the Steiner Brothers. Apparently they are heels now. Devon attacks Mike Tenay.
7. Backstage Angle talks to the rest of the roster about where all his stuff is. He randomly decides to attack Shark Boy.
8. Match- Kip James def. Lance Hoyt with the Famouser 4/10
OK match I suppose. Apparently this new Roxxi Laveaux character guarantees they VKM will win no matter what using her voodoo powers I guess. Roxxi once again beat up Hemme after the match. BG also joined Don West and Mike Tenay on commentary.
9. Samoa Joe backstage interview. He talks about his announcement saying it the biggest challenge ever made in TNA.
10. Kurt Angle is still looking for his clothes this time talking to the producers and attacks one who tries to leave. Mildly entertaining I guess...
11. Revenge Match- Christian Cage and James Storm def. Chris Harris and Rhino after Dustin Rhodes knocked Harris out with a chair
Good match here but kind of a dissapointing ending. Storm and Cage were about to pour beer on Rhino when Abyss and Sting came out to his aid. Cage escaped through the crowd but Abyss followed.
Side note: It appears Harris was injured after the chair shot from Rhodes.
12. Cornette tells Angle to put some clothes on if he wants to say something to the fans.
13. We catch up with Cage backstage. He tries to get out of dodge in AJ Style's truck but Abyss appears in the backseat. Cage and Styles run away screaming...
14. Angle comes out (in a robe) saying it was a funny prank stealing his suit, belts, and underwear. He blaims the fans for stealing his stuff and selling his underwear on Ebay. Samoa Joe comes out holding Angle's clothes and title belts. He says he wants to bury the hatchet between himself and Kurt. He gives Kurt's belts back and says he wants to find out who's the best in the world. He goes on to say they are the two best wrestlers in the world today. He wants himself and Kurt Angle to face each other one more time at Hard Justice saying that all the gold in TNA! Angle accepts! Joe then turns on Angle and headbutts him then sets up a table. After disrobing Angle (literally) Joe attempts to put Angle through the table but Angle counters tackling Joe through the table. He then puts the ankle lock on Joe.

Pretty good Impact here. Like I said before it's awesome seeing Triple X together again! They looked great. The segment at the end was very entertaining and the match should be pretty awesome at Hard Justice. All the gold will be on the line which I assume also includes Angle's IWGP title as well.
Overall- 7/10

ECW on Sci-Fi
July 17
1. We see the show open with some representative of Jonny Nitro's telling everyone they will never see Nitro on ECW ever again and that Nitro will give them more information in his "press conference.
2. Match- CM Punk def. Elijah Burke with the GTS 6/10
Solid match between these two but we've seen a lot better from them in their past matches. This was no comparrison to their 2 out of 3 falls match a few weeks ago.
3. Matt Striker comes to the ring and talks a little about the Boogeyman then introduces Big Daddy V.
Match- Big Daddy V def. Chick Storm with a Tilt-a-Whirl Slam 3/10
This was your basic squash match. I have to say I really like Big Vis's new gimmick. When I heard he was coming to ECW I didn't like it one bit but having Big Daddy V is a lot better than the "World's Largest Love Machine".
4. The Miz cut a pretty amusing promo saying he's such a huge ladies man and that women want him and men fear him.
5. Extreme Expose....
6. Match- Kevin Thorn def. Tommy Dreamer by throwing him into the ring post... 5/10
I though this match was OK but I am so sick of Dreamer losing in the stupidest ways. Last week Dreamer lost to Nitro with a drop toe hold on a trash can and in a match with Kevin Thorn a few weeks ago he lost after falling off the top rope. I'd like to see Dreamer get some sort of push eventually. Thorn hit an Original Sin after the match just for kicks and giggles I guess.
7. Jonny Nitro comes out with new music and a really cool looking new outfit. He said he's changing his name to his birth name John Morrison. He goes on to say that he's been doing great things since he was born. He proclaims himself the new face of ECW and that he will defeat Punk at the Great American Bash. Morrison then went on making fun of CM Punk which brought Punk out. Morrison then took Punk out with the mic and hit his neck breaker.
10/10

A pretty nice show going into the Bash. Definitely some good hype surrounding the ECW title match. Some solid matches but of course theirs always the standard squash match almost every week. John Morrison's promo was pretty great indeed getting him a huge amount of heat going into the PPV.
